Author Submissions

Abstract Preparation

Submit your abstract through EDAS

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of 1-2 pages (or a fully completed Work-In-Progress, WIP, of 2-3 pages that will be reviewed), using an on-line submission system, adding value to the global dialogue on how to positively contribute to the advancement of engineering education. Shorter submissions may be automatically rejected.

The extended abstract should summarize the scope of the paper and explicitly include the primary results and findings, emphasizing new advances, theories and/or applications so that the program committee will be able to understand the originality and the value of the work. A submission implies willingness to register and present the work if the paper is accepted for presentation at the conference.

Manuscripts will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee. Authors of accepted extended abstracts, must submit the complete paper version according to the deadline, register for the conference, and attend to present their papers. Both the extended abstract and the complete versions for review must be anonymized.

For your convenience, the Style Manual and Conference Paper templates in various formats are available through the following links:

  • Style Manual (use A4 format in latex or word)
  • The maximum length for a WIP is 3 pages without exceptions (must be a complete submission).
  • The maximum length for short papers is 5 pages without exceptions.
  • The maximum length for full papers is 10 pages without exceptions.

The conference proceedings will be submitted to IEEE Xplore® which ensures a wide dissemination of your valuable work. Once accepted and published (which is usually true for this conference), other indexing services evaluate conferences and independently determine what they will index.

Please note that an author of an accepted paper MUST register for and attend the conference AND present the paper for it to be sent to be published in IEEE Xplore. Papers that do not meet these requirements will not be published. No exceptions.

An email will be sent using a Zip Link of the proceedings to all registered attendees a couple of days prior to the conference. EDUCON 2023 is a zero-paper conference. Presented papers are sent to be published in IEEE Xplore as well as presented in the Proceedings. No Show papers will not be published in IEEE Xplore, however they are presented in the Proceedings. As a requirement, all papers need to have the IEEE Electronic Copyright.

Author Registration

Each lead author must visit the EDAS web site and establish an account with a username and password.

  1. Visit https://edas.info and click the New User button.
  2. Create your profile. Only the five fields with the red asterisk are required. *It is very important that your name and affiliation associated with your EDAS account are correct and match the name and affiliation that will be listed on your paper. These fields are first & last name, affiliation (company or organization), country, e-mail address, and status. When the fields are filled in, check the Privacy Policies box and click the Add Person button. [note: if you select USA as the country, you will get a message asking for your state]

You can then return to the EDAS log-in page https://edas.info and change your assigned password to one that is easier to remember. To do this, click on the My Profile tab, and then click on change your password. Be sure to record your user name, password and ID number for later reference.

Submission of Extended Abstract Please login at https://edas.info and follow the following steps:

  1. Type in the title of the paper and enter a brief abstract of your paper. Then select the topic area your paper falls under best. Note: This will help in choosing the reviewers. The PDF of your extended abstract will be uploaded later
  2. Click the Submit button.
  3. The next page you see will have a large green check mark and a statement that the paper was registered. The last row says Manuscript, and has an icon of a yellow folder next to it. Click on this icon, and then you can upload the PDF of your Extended Abstract on the next page.

Manuscript is used to refer to the PDF form of your extended abstract. You can also upload the paper by clicking the My Papers tab at the top of the screen, and then select the upload icon on the same row as the name of your paper. The upload icon (third column from the right) will open a dialog box that will enable you to select and upload the abstract file via the web or via FTP.
